Women's Health

Woman Working OutLet me start with congratulations, being here clearly shows your desire in taking that very important first step to improving your health in mind and body. On the subject of health, I have found that many women feel that cancer is their greatest enemy, actually its Heart Disease...1 in every 4 deaths. According to the American Heart Association this disease is mainly a culmination of an unhealthy diet and inactivity.
I'm guessing that, although each of you is different, the most popular concern is weight-loss. Consider these alarming facts.

  • In 1960 an average woman in her 20's =120lbs and a Size 6.
  • By 2000 she weighed 157lbs and a Size 12.
  • In 1960 an average woman in her 40's =140lbs and a Size 8.
  • By 2000 she weighed 165lbs and a Size 14.
  • Flexibility...Declines about 5% annually and a large contributor to "falls".
  • Osteoporosis...affects 2 million men in the USA; 8 million women.
  • Strength...after 25 we can lose 0.5lb of muscle annually if we do not perform some type of strength and conditioning.
  • Diets...Approximately 90% of dieters regain the weight within a year.

Diets do not work long term. You may have more luck repeating this mantra:

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles please no bags, Raise my rear before it sags.
Please no age spots, Please no gray, As for this tummy....Take it away!
Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young, Thanks dear Lord for all you have done.
